Definitions
Universality: an
entitlement to accessible and affordable quality
childcare services for all children and families who
wish to use them, in line with equality legislation and
the principle of social inclusion.
Diversity: a range of quality services
for children which provides choice for
parents in terms of childcare philosophies, approaches
and availability, both home based and centre based.
Quality: A dynamic,
transparent, consultative and inclusive process that is
dependent on evidence-based practice, and subject to
ongoing monitoring and evaluation. | |
